GULF WAR U.S. ARMY & NAME TAPES
On Daytime (6-Color and 3-Color) Desert Camouflage Battle Dress Uniforms
Standard black on olive green name and U.S. Army tapes were the only ones authorized on the Daytime Desert Battle Dress Uniform.
Many soldiers however elected to have desert subdued tapes manufactured while in Soutwest Asia and wore them.
Certain XVIII ABN CORPS units even deployed without having any tapes sewn on due to the short notice of their departure.
Woven desert subdued U.S. Army tapes became available by the end of the conflict, but were seldom worn.
